Polo surgery updated NEW
by: Anonymous

Polo came home from surgery today. The tumor was sent to Clemson University to be tested for cancer. I feel in my heart he is healed. He still has a glow in his eyes that says ” mommy let me at ’em.” As for the diarrhea, he finally was able to stay on Innova large breed puppy food. My vet warned me against giving him chew bones that contained PORK. This apparently was the problem because he has grown out of the diarrhea phase. Now I just want him to be healthy and happy. I don’t care how much he “poops” as long as he is here with me. Forever a Rottie Mom………………..Thanks for your prayers and advice…..

Tummy Trouble NEW
by: Martha

Hi, I struggled with finding food for my rottie that suited her, it seems that many of the premium foods upset her tummy and caused diarrhea. I finally found one that worked well for her, then found out that it was made by a company that had many food recalls…the manufacturer was Diamond pet foods, and the food was Taste of the Wild. The food I actually had for my dog did not have the recalled lot #, but coincidentally both she and my daughters pit-mastiff mix (who lives with us) got diarrhea at the same time. To be safe, I did some research and am now feeding Acana Wild Prairie. They also make a food called Grasslands that worked well. They are both grain free. I tried one of their foods with grains (I think it was called Chicken with Burbank Potato), and it upset their tummies again, so I think grain free is important for my dogs. You may want to try it. Also, it’s a little cheaper to order it online from sites like mrchewy.com or petsolutions.com, they deliver to your door in about 5 days and you save sales tax. An interesting website to research foods is dogfoodanalysis.com. Good luck with your baby!
