Puppy diet plan

My 14 week old rotti went for his second jab today and weighs 12.5kg he is eating purina beta turkey and rice dry food only.

The vet suggested to start feeding him raw mince meat with better quality dry food.

I was wondering what the best way to feed my pup up.

Hi Steph,
Rottweiler puppies grow at an incredible rate and they have very specific nutritional needs.

What they eat can have a long-term impact on their overall health and it’s important that they have a premium food with the right balance of nutrients.

You can find all the info. you need on feeding Rottie pups properly here…. Feeding Puppies and Best Large Breed Puppy Food.

Whether or not you want to add raw meat to your pup’s diet is up to you. He will certainly enjoy it, but he needs a lot more than just the protein for meat.

Adding something as tasty as raw beef to his bowl can make a puppy a bit ‘picky’ when it comes to food because he’ll obviously prefer the meat over the dry food. As long as he continues to eat a HIGH QUALITY large breed puppy food (and I’m afraid Purina food doesn’t fit that bill) the meat will be just the icing on the cake, but he doesn’t actually NEED it.

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your pup and thanks for visiting my site 🙂 ~ Sue
